Eagle's Nest Critical Minerals Project  ·  Central Labrador

Why Was The Eagle's Nest Critical Minerals Project Overlooked?

Many early-stage exploration opportunities exist because the original work was completed before the market cared about the full suite of commodities now considered strategic. The Eagle's Nest Critical Minerals Project is a good example.

Background

Why the opportunity still exists

Historical exploration at the Michikamats Intrusion focused primarily on rare earth elements. Scandium was not included in the historical assay programs, and gallium, zirconium and niobium were not systematically followed up as targets.

Since that work was completed, critical minerals markets have changed significantly. Rare earth elements, scandium, gallium, zirconium and niobium are now strategically important to clean energy, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, aerospace and defence supply chains.

Ramsden’s opportunity is to revisit the Eagle's Nest Critical Minerals Project using modern analytical methods, modern geophysics and a broader critical minerals framework.

The opportunity is not that the Eagle's Nest Critical Minerals Project is fully understood.
The opportunity is that it is not.

Timeline

From 2010 to 2026

2010 Historical program

A field program collected 127 rock grab samples, focused primarily on rare earth elements. Scandium was not assayed, and gallium, zirconium and niobium were not followed up as targets.

2010s – 2020s Critical minerals markets shift

Rare earth elements, scandium, gallium, zirconium and niobium become strategically important to clean energy, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, aerospace and defence.

2026 Ramsden revisits the Eagle's Nest Critical Minerals Project

Ramsden re-examines the Eagle's Nest Critical Minerals Project using modern analytical methods, modern geophysics and a broader critical minerals framework.
